Listen to the silence, in the quiet of the dawn
Leave your thoughts and worries for the world to muse upon
Sit softly in your armchair and close your weary eyes
Exult in merely being as a dove is free to fly
Listen to the rhythms of a life you yearn to know
Feel its breath inside you as a lover’s heart doth grow
Taste the new sensation, fear not its warm embrace
Touch the peaceful contours of the smile on Jesus’face
Hear the still of evening, let God walk in your home
Let Him help you enter into heaven’s golden throne
Leave your thoughts and worries for the world to muse upon
Listen to the silence, in the quiet of the dawn
nice
You are the only person I know besides me to use the word “doth”.
It’s poetry after all. 🙂
Yes, poetry it is indeed! Long live ideally placed words, beautiful language, and a well-written piece of literature!
very nice!
Thanks.
Enjoyed your poem Jon, feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders..
Lisa, thanks. Maybe I should stick to poetry, after all. It’s for ADD-afflicted writers.
Nah, ….stick to wine, women, and words!
I must say, Jonathan, I took those words out onto my balcony tonight. Thank you for the peace of your written piece. You craft with such beauty.
Ah shucks! I’m blushing…:)
